ABOUT:

The Nashua Public Library and media director Bruce Marks have been running outdoor movies since the mid 1970′s.  In 2009, Community Events and Chris Malloy joined the Plaza Pics series by provide the monstrous 40 ft. inflatable movie screen, the HD projection, and BOSE sound system.

The film series take place in Greeley Park on Concord st. in Nashua. NH’s historic North End.

Preparing for Plaza Pics- July 10th in Greeley Park! – From the producer’s desk

Hey Nashua-

I’m Chris Malloy, the owner of Community Events LLC, outdoor movie & event production co. and the producer of the Nashua Public

Library’s “Plaza Pics” film series.  We are getting ready for the “kickoff event” on July 10th.  We will be opening the film series with “Journey to the Center of the Earth” starring Brendan Fraser.

A quick note about the Plaza Pics history:  There is a small,friendly feud about who started the “outdoor movie” event in New England between Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream of VT and Bruce Marks at the Nashua Public Library.  Both of these film series started in the late 70′s.

We are excited to be able to bring the community together through this movie series.  There are many local business and organizations that will be participating.  First, the Nashua Public Library.  The library has been hosting this outdoor movie series for almost 40 years! The library continues to be a community leader, and I encourage everyone to stop by and see what they have going on that might interest you!  They will be at each of the movie nights- come see them!

In addition to the library, several local businesses are sponsoring the event, all with something unique happening at each of the movie nights.  St. Joseph Hospital will hold a community health booth at the event with many raffles, info and more.  Hannaford Bros. Co. will be giving away free healthy snacks to the first couple hundred people each night. The Law firm of Gottesman and Hollis will have giveaways.  Chunky’s Cinema will offer a special “seat upgrade” featuring their famous (and comfy) leather chairs.  The Nashua Telegraph will feature the movie event on the front page of the paper leading  up to the July 10th kickoff event.

From the production side, we are proud to be working exclusively with BOSE professional sound and Xtreme Audio Video of Pelham, NH to bring the highest quality outdoor cinema experience possible!
